I enjoy visiting school and libraries to talk my books, what it's like to be an author, and how a book is made. If you think might be interested in having me visit, please contact me to discuss your individual needs.
My Presentation
From the time of conception until the book is place on the library shelf, children will enjoy learning the inside scoop on the publishing process. I include photos that give a sneak peek inside a real publishing house. Find out where I get my ideas from while I share fun stories about my published books. I wrap up my my presentation talking about my current projects and a brief question and answer period.
My Audience
I prefer to present to smaller groups of around 75 students in an intimate setting like a library. My presentations are approximately 45 minutes for grades 1 and up. Kindergarten presentations are kept to 30 minutes. I am flexible and open to discussing how I can accomodate your needs.
My Fees
My fee is $300 for one session and $200 for each additional session with a maximum of four sessions per day for $900.
On a full-day visit I would be glad to spend lunch with a small group of students. Food, lodging, and travel expenses are additional to my standard fees. Book now to hold 2009 rates.
Availability
Feel free to contact me to check my availability for school visits, library visits, young author's days and career days.
Creative Writing Center

A great tie-in to MY FIRST DOG, children learn how to use a chart, pyramid, and story start activity to help them develop their own dog story.
"Your recent visit was a smashing success and a brilliant introduction to nonfiction books for our third graders. Not only was it wonderful to have an expert visit our students, but your ability to keep them all interested in the real world was greatly appreciated."
